This Saturday, where else would you want to be but a concert consisting of local musicians and key speakers dedicated to a special cause?
What's the cause?
People with special needs, who have continuously been marginalized and isolated from our community whereby our very environment does not accomodate for their needs and many are not given the opportunities they deserve. It is the concerts' mission to give them a chance to integrate and thrive in our society.
All proceedings and profits made from this event will go to the following cause: Advance Society (The Egyptian Society for Developing Skills of Children with special needs), founded by Maha Helaly and a group of parents in 1997, is a special needs school dedicated to integrating children with special needs into the Egyptian community through accommodating and developing their needs. They offer diverse programs, including Adult programs, training for special education teachers and after-school activities for children with special needs in an attempt to include them into mainstream schools. Lately, they have faced financial difficulties as their expenses can no longer be covered, including sponsorship of children who cannot afford tuition, cost of training and other expenses.
