We're loving all these exhibits!

Get your culture on tonight at the opening of Bart de Baets & Sandra Kassenaar's exhibition "Success and Uncertainty"

The title sounds like it explains most of Cairo's who's who, doesn't it?

The exhibit started with something interesting: On Wed, June 1st, there was a light-box hung outside the Townhouse Gallery announcing the start of the project and showcasing the first poster. From then on, each following day, a new poster has and will be placed inside the light-box as on the inside of the gallery. The posters showcase observations and experiences inspired by being in Cairo at the time of their residency: A perfect example of how to deal with what it's like being at the right place at the right time.

In a daily changing tempo the posters will be seen in- and outside the gallery and will, just like newspapers do, one day show bold statements and gruesome facts, but at times light hearted messages too, like weather forecasts formal observations or rumors… The content provided by the designers create a clash of information that will influence the way one reads a poster. It shows the constant dialogue, which occupied Kassenaar and de Baets at times of the Egyptian January 25 revolution.

This is the first time that the artists have worked together - we're excited to see the result of their collaboration!

The event beings tomorrow at 7 pm at the Townhouse first floor project room. The exhibit will last until June 29th.
