We can't help but bring up a topic that seems to only be increasing at a terrifying speed...DIVORCE.
Everyday we hear about another friend who got a divorce after a short marriage, we don't understand...Is there something in the water that has plagued our generation from committing full-time? Are we that spoiled that we can't stick through the hard times, through thick and thin? Sickness and health!?
The amount of young divorcees, some with children, is truly sad.
We think it's due to the fact that our generation is so spoiled and obsessed with instant gratifcation that we don't have the patience to stick through problems. Our parents have much thicker skin than us. and our grandparents have even thicker skins than our parents. We look at the things they went through and then compare it to those of our generation that bails when shit gets rough.
Most couples claim that they discovered that the guy or girl had some flaw that was impossible to live with, our question is: did you not realize that when you were dating AND engaged? The dating and engagement period is not just about going to the movies and dinner, it's about learning about each other in different situations.
We understand that marriage reveals a whole new side of people, but to the extent that you find out major things that you never saw before? How did you JUST discover that she doesn't like to cook or that he is cheap?
Is love that blind?
Also, the involvement of parents has exceeded anything normal. In-laws are one of the reason causes of break ups!
We can't believe how quickly the numbers are increasing, it's becoming an epidemic.
