We've heard of wedding crashers, white house crashers but never till today have we heard of press release crashers. Nokia has been preparing for it's global conference and developer event for several months now in London, while HTC, several weeks ago, decided that they would like to have an event as well.
That's cool, but what's not cool is that they decided to place the event in the same city, London. Oh and not only the same city...but on the same exact day.
Yeah, Nokia wasn't exactly too thrilled to share their special day, and decided to take matters into their own hands. This morning Nokia sent a crew of young folks with bright red balloons stating, "I know where I'm going with Nokia's Ovi Maps," to stand right in front of the doors of HTC's events. To make matters worse they decided to hand out HTC surivial kits to attendees. Mad props to Nokia for taking this aggressive marketing ploy with a new age viral twist!
With iPhones, Blackberrys, and Droids taking much of the spotlight, it's refreshing to hear that these two are still fighting strong!
