futtaim group is already doing Cairo Festival City for kattemeya area therefore the mall of egypt will most probably be 6th of october considering that the size of the projects on that side of cairo is bigger

Al-futtaim group and MAF (majed al futtaim real estate) are not the same company nor the same person, they are cousins. MAF owns the citycenter malls and the rights to carrefour supermarket; where as Al futtaim group own the festival cities and the rights for the IKEA franchise. The land for Mall of Egypt is already in place and they do have a billboard already installed, it's in 6th of october just after dreamland on your right, opposite to madinat al entag al e3lamy (they purchased the land from Ahmed Bahgat a while back)

Finally something new.......
although the fact that i hate shopping malls, this is something exciting especially it is not situated at the center of the capital such as CityStars which sometimes SUX....
once upon a time Cairo used to have its chic street stores, downtown Cairo was so PARISien.....
anyways, it's smart (although a little bit late) to build new areas just to ease the crowds on  old ones and the capital......
