With Ramdan in full swing and week one officially over, we have realized there isn't much news to spread, and the news that is available to spread (well in the spirit of Ramadan) we'll be keeping it to our selves.
So we got to thinking, with all the Charity TV ads we see daily on TV and all the different Ramadan tents promoting different Charities through clothing brands etc...
Has the whole charity charade become just a marketing tool to get people to take part in normal daily events, or is it truly out the kindness of these people's hearts.
We don't know about you but we're firm believers in doing good, but knowing at the same time where the money is going to.
There is one ad on TV that really spoke to us, the jist of it is not to give beggers money just to shut them up, but to help them by providing them with jobs or opportunities to stand on their own two feet. For example providing a Kiosk for someone to work in rather than giving them 10 pounds, providing a cow or chickens in which can be utilized to start a business, etc...
If anything that definitely seems to be one of the only solutions for Egypt today, especially in a country where begging has become so common that people are taking it as the easy way out!
