Besides the fact that just because they have fancy cars,  you easily assimilate yourselves into an arab "us" that you deny when these showy khaligis are in Egypt, the West is not afraid of you. This is business, and not "bending over backwards".

Ghaddafi's son, who got to see the inside of a European jail cell, can vouch for that.

On a final note: if anything, Egypt is the land of money talks.

calm down guys, we all know how Khalijis (totally different from ARABS, which is the general term)extravagant they spend (SAFAh), especially in Europe (LONDON and PARIS), not only in shopping, but the trend today is to OWN properties and establishments in London such as Harrods in addition to a nonending list of clubs, streets, shops, ...according to Arabian Business, "foreign demand for property in the capital has risen by 35 percent in a year, with 52 percent of the increase coming from the Middle East, according to UAE daily The National."
and during an economic crisis such as the world is going through these days, selling is a GOLDEN opportunity, (the seller is a smart winner), and we all witness how Khaliji act in a restaurant or a shop in London or Paris, it's "milking a giant oily cow", but that cow will one day run out of milk that's why she needs to look for other future resources....Islam (and Any Relegion) did not call for excessive spending....as for the car jet dilemma, believe me i saw it in Heathrow, "they" don't own private jets like the ones you are used to see...a PLANE, gigantic PLANE.
we all know also that for most (if not all) foreigners (British, French, Lebanese ect......)that:
KHALIJIS === MONEY and LOADS of MONEY
EGYPTIANS == PHARAOHS (EGYPT, PYRAMIDS, SUN, CULTURE ect...)
so the article intends to assert the idea, mentioned at the end of it "Money Talks", where is Money ??? answer: in the Gulf countries, and by money i mean billions, i know Egypt has money and there are Egyptian billionaires, but on the international scale, not the same BOOM Khalijis are making by buying anything the WANT......

Well, stop thinking you can tell them how to spend their money. If any thing the money you are claiming is being spent safah is actually usually well invested. When you are getting considerable shares in leading companies in a country, owning loads of properties there this means you have some power over that country. Also, in case you do not know, unlike us in Egypt, watching in silence while our own resources are being milked thanks to corruption, the Gulfies as you call them have been putting their money to good use. Saudis now produce wheat and we actually buy from them sometimes. Several Gulf countries and individuals own huge agricultural projects around the World. Go and check which American brands are owned by Saudis, Whole Food and Ann Taylor are but a few.
The fact is that Egypt now translates to corruption and an unstable future, a country facing failure on so many levels and a very real threat as to its water, energy and food supplies. As for the pyramids and culture, you know what its sad when countries owning less than 10% of what we have are making shit loads of money from tourism and we are so happy we are known for the pyramids and an increase in the number of poor tourists visiting us.
Last but not least, many of those Egyptians considered to be high class act and look worse than Khalijis so, dnt throw rocks when our house is made of thin glass

Well Said, but i was clarifying how Europeans differentiate between Egyptians and Khalijis, coz it's so true and we all know how any human being working in any sell-buy business acts when dealing with Khalijis,
IMO money does not define superiority, (although most people do think this way), Education, Culture and self-respect are some of the major things that do QUALIFY the intellectual (at least that what i learned) and buy using these tools u can make MONEY, on the other hand when you have MONEY (regardless the source) u cant or cannot, it depends on your will and mental capabilities to go on and develop....
why we don't see Khalijis received Nobel Prize or any international one??
why we they are always BUYING and BUYING, is this the way to build a civilization?? is this the way to have your own distinguished identity that makes you adequate and au fait....
it's smart to look for alternative resources in case they run out of oil in the near future, but again not enough )

--At least: QATARIs wont be able to bring back Michael Jackson make a music video Qatari themed "Remeber the Time"....
and still no shop called Blanc du Nil"

@Egyptian: The problem is that we are still living in this bubble that makes us think we are better, we have more class, more educated more cultured. The truth is that we arent, the majority arent. Loads of young Khalijis are educated abroad, the Saudis just opened one of the most amazing scientific universities in the World, they are working w/o budget limitations on issues related to sustainable energy ect. There are already far better unis in the Gulf than in Egypt. The fact is, it seems they are doing much better, they arent only buying just like that but are making some important investment decisions and mark my words if they ever decided to pull out their investments from EU, US and even Egypt, this wil cause some major shocks in the markets of these companies. The only problem is that bec like the rest of the region, these countries arent ruled by elected regimes, they are still not using their full force of their powers to defend their interests against the West. The Saudi gov has a stronger saying the affairs of the region than Egypt right now. We are a decaying country, with all the potential we have and we all know the reason for that and mark my words if a good percentage of Egyptians wont wake up, stop pretending life is all well and things will turn out fine, this country will be sliding to worse conditions. We are already on the verge of a wheat crisis, already have an electricity and water crisis and major increases in food prices. We are going by by Allah's mercy.
