We all know that Egyptian women are fiesty and passionate, but we didn't realize it was this bad!

According to recent studies, Egyptian wives are first in line of women that beat their husbands (followed by American women and Indian wives). The study confirms that 28% of Egyptian women have beaten their husband at one point or another...what!? Also, apparently it is more common among the wealthy, since the women are more independent and outspoken. Ah of couse, outspoken/independent must = physically violent.

We would assume it would be  more common in the less-educated areas, where vocalizing issues and counseling is not as popular and common - but that's just us.

So, what counts as beating? Like an actual physical beat down or a slap on the back of the head?

We realize this is a serious matter, and of course condemn any kind of phsyical act of aggression towards any human being.

That being said, we admit we can't help but laugh a little at the accusation...what ever happened to the good old fashioned and accepted shib shib throw?
