Get your minds out of the gutter, the title has nothing to do with naked models! But there definitely is an interesting event taking place today!

"Today fashion reflects the state of the society where it develops. It is a multimillion dollar industry that has a huge effect on the society and its individuals. Terms like “fashion victim”, “fashionista” and “metrosexual” appear in our vocabulary and explain behaviour that is related to fashion and brands individuals or group.

In the western world fashion is a mirror of the society, where celebrities and their style are imitated by the masses. In the Middle East on the other hand, fashion is also an echo of the political and religious situation.

Can we find a link though? Or is it all about differences?

Fashion, society, culture, politics, religion. How do they affect one another and how do they influence or even shape identity?

Through UNCOVERED we aim to encourage a reflection on a topic that we usually don’t pay attention to since it is part of our daily life.
