We are beyond disappointed about the news that we all heard today; Mohamed El Fayed has sold Harrods department store to the Qatari Royal Family for 1.5 Billion Sterling pounds!

Nice chunk of change yes, but is it worth giving up something we Egyptians have been so proud of for so long?

The decision came after Fayed chose that it was time to retire and concentrate on his other endeavors like his football club Fullham and the Ritz Carlton in Paris. He will stay on as honarary chairman of the department store though!

We just hope that they keep true to the Harrod's image and leave the traces of Egypt that Fayed had worked so hard on to bring to the store!
