We're loving the amount of emerging artists here...

This Monday, make sure to head over to Zamalek to check out Dalia Sabet's painting exhibition "Mechanics of a Woman":

Dalia Sabet’s paintings are inspired by materials found in everyday life. The young artist roams through vintage markets and industrial supply workshops in the cities of Cairo and Alexandria gathering a collection of everyday tools and materials to be incorporated in her artwork. Sabet recontextualizes found objects such as bottle caps, screws, cans and other material, integrating them into her art work. The result is an expressive body of work which celebrates the aesthetic quality of found materials outside of their original industrial or functional use.

By contrasting bold metal objects with delicate materials, Sabet attempts to depict the interwoven elements of masculinity and femininity. The individuality of each art piece represents the varying cultural definition of femininity.
The woman’s physical attributes are left undefined in contrast to the intricate use of materials which surround them. This contrast allows the bold objects to exemplify the transformation of femininity - from being regarded as a weakness to being embraced and celebrated for its fundamental role in society.

That sounds amazing, we can't wait to check it out! Keep bringing on the creative juices Cairo!
