Put yourself in their shoes, Now you're back, what if they let you go..what would people say about you or about them...you'll be having this "great repute among your friends and social network that you're the one without curfew, which will accordingly affect their own reputation etc.
A typical eastern stereotype. Worrying about being right more than doing the right.

hahahaha this is SO true, i have no curfew abroad, but here its back to basics, 11pm max. its because of the whole 'your reputation is the most important thing' in this city, people are so paranoid, if a girl comes home after 12 she is automatically assumed that she's been up to no good  and her parents are day3een for leaving her out that late. Sad but true.

ths is the most on pint thing you have ever wrtten. my parents do it this way and i dont get it either. I think they trust us a lot but when we are back home they r still parents an cant help but protect and shelter us since they like to feel like they are in control.

also for one, i at least know that my parents trust me but dont nessecarily trust cairo itself and the crowds here...

Oh God! My parents had no problem having all 5 of us boys and girls go abroad for further studies or work but once back well they still want us to follow some rules. I used to get angry at first but I know they trust me but as my Dad put it to me this is a different society and has its own rules and conditions and I dnt want some illminded person have the chance to say or do anythinv to you. Now Im a few years older and I do see their point, though not sure Ill do the same w my kids

Parents want their girls to get married and they know that the fact that she was alone abroad wont get her a husband.. so by being super strict they try to recover whatever damage traveling could have dont to her image in front of their friends & socialnetwork...
makes sense?

its not that they dont trust cairo ..cairo is a lot safer than many other cities and it is a fact..i think they do that because of the people around them neighbors relatives keda y3ny
