With all the 3ozooma's we have and all the Ramadan Kheimas we go to, we've come to realize a major issue with our Egyptian Women!

There is a major issue with staring in this country...can't a girl sit without the staring glaring looking at your every detail looks...of ANOTHER WOMAN?!

You'd think we were all gay from the way we stare at each other. Girls check out other girls a hundred times more than any man would check out a girl.

You walk into Seqouia masalan and before you reach your table...every inch of you from your hair to your pedicure has been looked at in a completely unsubtle look up and down. We're not even shy about it!

We say WE because as the girls from S&H, we can't deny it, we do it too. Gotta be fair!
So what is it that compels us to stare each other up and down?? Jealousy is one part of it but sometimes its a nice stare. We appreciated the "I like your outfit" stare...or "nice bag" stare...the eyes do all the talking!

Part of it is also because some girls just ask for it!! Come on...did you reaaaally think that looked okay when you left? No mirror? No mom or dad? Some just try waaay too hard to be funky and end up looking like a train wreck. So yeah, if you're trying to grab attention - you did! But its probably not the kind you were hoping for.

But yeah, we must admit when a girl looks good and we stare part of it must be jealousy we guess ... but how pathetic? Why? Because she looks nice? Because she pulled off something we never could? No...props to her then! And that's when you should change the envy stare into the "nicely done" head nod or smile.

I'm sure the couple of comments about how Egyptian girls are light years away from Europeans as far as intellect is concerned are well how can I say it nicely, do not have any intellect bec if they do they would know that generalization and stereotyping indicates lack of brains.
Women check each other all the time in fact I was LOL when I was in Munich bec it was like every body is checking every body and it was so in ur face. I would also say men and women from the GCC countries tend to have the most intense looks as far as I'm checking you out is concerned and nope I dnt mean the Im checking you out bec Im interested.
To the Egyptians pretending to be Americans or Europeans plz continue to be so, we in Egypt do not miss you and in fact we find you well silly and living in a lie. Granted you can not handle an Egyptian girl and you can not deny that its easier to marry some European or American who most probably wouldnt be so demanding as far as your background, capabilities and of course responsibilities as a man and a husband are concerned, besides in most cases properly observing your religion.
No wonder most of you end up with nothing but "white trash" we mabrook mokadaman.

Of course, there are men who share the same characteristics in Egypt, but the phenomenon is much more widespread amoung females in Egypt; especially when benchmarked against European women.

i've lived in egypt, other countries in the gulf and the states. no matter where i go, i have noticed that women, in general are competitive creatures as are men. i find that women, however, try to compensate for their judgments by befriending the so-called competition and praising them with compliments. it is this habit that is the most annoying bc it furthers one's insecurity and makes "fakeness" acceptable. i agree with the s&h writer. women should compliment each other and acknowledge when the other looks good or is rocking an awesome outfit bc at the end of the day, when women set a good example and treat each other well, this attitude definitely works towards preventing the stereotypes that men have of them (namely the fact that they are are superficial, competitive, insecure etc.) the ugly truth is that our appearances do matter. they say "something" about who we are. however, they don't say everything and it's up to both men and women to look past that to try to get to the bottom of who a person is. if not, the emphasis on the way one dresses or their physical appearance will continue to reign strong and if this continues happening, well then yes, every outing will be filled with the not so subtle head to toe stares that are way too childish for those of us who know better.

Local egyptian girls are too complicated and too materialistic. Will def not consider marrying one. I can get much better value elsewhere. Anonymous girl I'm afraid you and your team of leeches are light years behind europe in terms of intellect, even if you dress like them

honestly that's the one trait that quite frankly frightens me away from ever dating an egyptian girl from back home. usually the ones raised here (an undisclosed location) are a lot more chill and will call it like it is be it ugly or not, all in a subtle way of course.

but my experience with the species masria stylococus can be described as a national geographic one, where you observe from behind the glass, maybe appreciate the alien beauty of the creature, but dare not come close as it will surely bite or maul you to death.

Girls do this everywhere in the world. Trust me. Only difference is that in Egypt it's more intense... There is always a sense of competition in Egypt when women step out the door and although it's the same case all over the world (women competing for Mens attention and wanting to look hot at all times) it seems that in Egypt its more serious.
This is really one of those posts where i wanted to make a point thats in my head but i dont think it worked lol.

exactly they tend to scare guys away (the ones raised abroad), and send girls raised abroad into tears and sometimes the loony bin. as the intensity in their eyes rivals that of a mother cougar stalking its prey. and forbid they instantly accept a new cougar (raised abroad) into their pride they have to send her into the jungle in tears questioning her sense of fashion or the way she carries herself or says a word.

then they get stalkerish imitating and smothering the girl to death. forcing the girl bee line to cairo intl never to return.

I wrote most probably not all, you shld knw the difference by now. Well, Im a she 2nd anon. I think the gun shld be used by those w nothing to add which is well u. Isnt it a fact that on issues of family and marriage our society tends to be more demanding? Granted issues like scoial background to some i the West but certainly not all and certainly not for the majority. Isnt also true that for us 2 families are getting tied and thats why the parents and sometimes even other relatives have a huge saying? Call me wt u want but im telling things how they are. Look around, how many of the likes of those Egyptians pretending to be something else end up w a presentable Western? How many end up with an Asian or African American\ EU. i never claimed that all egyptian girls are shallow, but yes many of the ones from back home are either facsimiles of PARIS HILTON or KIM KARDASHIAN (for a very large obvious reason!)

but most of the egyptian girls abroad hold less emphasis on being 'done up' a la AAROOST EL MOOLID. and are much more concerned with their mental acumen and academic achievement all while being fashion savvy.

in the end i'm glad you are well loved agitatus masria stylococus! and your very attractive likeness will be ideal for attracting an ALPHA MALE in the coming mating season of spring '10!
