The holy month brings out a lot of changes in us...more giving, less cursing, praying regularly (although some of us are always on point with that!), etc etc...
But there's one change that we've seen each year that we still don't get. The higab in Ramadan...ummm...what's up ladies?!
That's like the women that take off their higab on their wedding day...its not a holiday! Higab is a lifestyle - it doesn't have a schedule. We are not arguing the issue of whether it is fard or not, that's controversial on it's own...but if you're gonna do it, do it right! And if you're NOT veiled...you can't put it on and off based on certain days and months. Law keda, et7agebo on Friday - its a holy day isn't it??
Don't get us wrong - even though most of you will anyway just for shits and giggles.
We encourage using the month of Ramadan to become more spiritual...to pray more...get closer to God -- but taking a big step like getting veiled just for 30 days and then taking it off after...now that doesn't make much sense, does it?
Without getting further into the issue of higab or religion, we just felt like bringing up a trend that we've seen for years. We put in our two cents, what do you guys think?
