Although Ramadan feels like it cut our summer short there's one good thing about it starting in August...those of us that school abroad get to spend some of it here in Egypt!

It's really depressing when we spend our Ramadans alone in Canada, the States, the UK, or wherever we are spread out and see our family and friends celebrating together in tents and homes.

Oh how we crave kunafa and sambousak when we iftar on Mcds or Iranian kabob if we're lucky. Of course there's always other Muslims in the area so we get to keep each other company and cook with one another but its nothing like spending it here with all our family and friends!

This year, even though sahel was cut short, we all get a couple of weeks in Cairo with our loved ones to actually enjoy the holy month :)

Is it bad we're dreading spending Ramadan abroad?
