Unfortunately these days there are a lot of 3azas (funerals) which has caused us to notice that a lot of people are lacking major etiquette in these situations!

3azas have become some sort of social event now, where people (mainly women) stare you up and down to see your "black" attire and chat during the funeral. It has become very normal for people to sit and talk and gossip...while the Quran is on!! We've even seen people smoke in the mosque (and it doesn't help that there are ashtrays on the tables) ...ummmm what happened to respect??

First of all, you're in a mosque...listening to Quran...in honor of someone who passed away...where does gossip, smoking, and chit chat fit in??

We have just been shocked at the lack of funeral etiquette our society has gotten used to...put yourself in the hosts' shoes, you probably wouldn't appreciate it.
