S&H I second the comment that you are ignorant. The political system there is unfair and keeps ppl attached to religious ties. So, instead of making up your own mind you will probably choose the side your own religious groups choose. Like it or not few Egyptians are into dancing and drinking and that is mainly the reason some Egyptians like Lebanon. I love my Cairo where each can find what he/she likes to do and where ppl at least most of them do not pretend or wish they were French or Americans, the same can not be said about Lebanon.

they mean the victory of Hairi yesterday. He won more then 50% of seats yesterday.

but S&H Cairo doesnt need to learn anything from Lebanon. The difference between them and us is that they have a bigger party/outing szene.
Egyptians are more into cafes and going out for food with friends..
Lebanese are more into drinks

according to Fairmont management, their Skybar will have guset capacity: 104 + 9 (Bar Stools) + 28 (lounge), while Skybar Beirut can host up to 2000 persons per night !!!!

for Ahmose, yes 2000 $ per night, witnessed it there,and sometimes u have to book month earlier in rush summer,don't wanna tell u a bill can reach up to 20,000 $ (yes 20 thousand us dollars a night), and of course Gulf-Arabs are the ones who pay),,,it's only open during summer (maybe that's why it's expensive),  as for Cairo, i don't truly compare, but here in Cairo we don't have simpatico places but these two (35 & Tamarai), and i mean Cairo (the Capital) not Sharm, and believe me Beirut nightlife rox more than CAIRO'S, but as human beings, countries don't take it all !!!

I mean you tell me they pay up to 20.000 dollars per table. Bling BLing is not a measure of a great party.
A great party is a place where the DJ plays nice music and where you can have fun without anyone gossips every move you do.

I have never been to 35 ( I had no girl to enter with LOL) but I really liked Tamarai. Cool design, nice menue and very nice crowd.

And don`t forget Egyptians are still more down to earth even the snobish class.
Egyptians still enjoy it more to be with many friends in a place where they can sit and laugh. Thats why the Cairo night life ( in terms of clubs) is not that advanced.

But who knows. May be someone in Cairo will create an exclusive bling bling club which attracts those who define fun by money.

well, it seems uve never been to Beirut, but believe me i wish Cairo  will have many clubs (won't say bars ) just for variety, i wish concerts and gigs always meet international standards in terms of organization and ambiance, and fun was never defined by money, it sometimes play a role, but not entirely defines FUN

I just wanted one of the writers to explain wut they meant when they said "major victory" .. Did they mean the victory of saad el hariri and his party?? or lets say "victory of the almighty dollar"!! where he paid 100$/vote and 40 thousand free airline tickets!! It is so weird that you compare Tamarai which is fairly priced with a spot where u pay 2000%
You can not compare apples with mangos.
Believe me, if in Egypt there would be a spot where you pay that much money..It would be by far the best place ever.
Cairo rocks even with 20 dollars per night!
I don’t live in Egypt but once I am there I love being in purple, cjc,  tamarai, those places are fun with nice music and dancing peole!

Cairo. I love you because Cairo is diverse. Where in the world can you have a nice outing in a a nice designed spot and after you can at 5 in the morning Kebda or Kufta or any other food you wish to eat-

the "quality" of people what makes SKYBAR unique, sorry to tell, but far far from both of Cairo's only night-spots, 35 and Tamarai (sorry BAKI), although a table can spend up to 2000 $ at the end of a night, but really outstanding place and outstanding people, just notice how girls dance, how they dress, from head to toe, boobylicious but elegant, and yes, SKYBAR is not for ordinary people, even jettsetters all across the world always head to Beirut to just spend a night @ Skybar, it was ranked as # 2 on world's best bars last year, and beirut is the only arab city to have 3 bars on the list: www.worldsbestbars.com/public/top_listings.jsp

Look at the underground music revolution. Look at a real organic theatre like Sawy.
Just because Lebanon has many bars doesnt mean they are something special.
