A few weeks ago, a couple of new Egyptian movies came out, some seem interesting, while others controversial. In one corner we have "El Farah" (The Wedding) from the makers of Kabaret, which also revolves around a one day story of what happens in a sha3by wedding.

Then you have "Dokan She7ata", a movie with Haifa Wehbe who is a hottie turned monakaba (face veil) who is from el Se3eed....something there doesn't add up...

Of course there are a few more that are out, but here's the most shocking tip we've heard from a big time producer in Egypt. For the next month and a half (summertime basically), approximately 24 movies will be produced and in cinemas from june to july. How this is possible, or where they will all play is beyond us.

On the plus side, our media business seems to be booooming, but will the quality of the movies be good like Yaqoubian Building and other meaningful movies? Or will we have more Tamer Hosny movies like "Omar and Salma 2"? (Yes, they made a sequel!)
