No big deal. I attended the 60th Cannes Film Fest in 2007 and was working there with the Lebanese delegation. Too bad that year there was no Egyptian delegation and no Egyptian films in contest.
What about this year?

We should all be proud that an Egyptian is doing something big, it's not about socialites it's about how good of a job she's doing. If she gets to go to cannes and impress then good for her I don't get why everyone's so upset

I was working (for another country mission!) at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in 2007. That year there was almost nobody from Egypt, not even an Egyptian delegation, because there were no Egyptian films. I wonder what he/she is up to over there this year, and hope that some good PR for the Egyptian movie-making industry will come out of it.

Rotana is a a pretty big deal..wat because its not universal studios doesnt make it any less of an accomplishment

its the biggest Studio in the MIddle East, they're branching out into international films

They had a film that was actually nominated for the festival, and she was there for the marketing of that film and another, better than just being there for the parties!
