We've been saying it for some time now, all the big players in Hollywood and the Music Industry have been scoping the Middle East out as a new launching pad and let's layout it out there, for the "Arab Money".....
Well now Sony Music has officially launched and began to operate in Dubai to cover the regional market.
Kevin Ridgley, managing director of Sony Music Entertainment Middle East (SMEME) said, "that while they will not be producing music here, the company would be promoting content from signed international artists from the United States, India and the Philippines."
So what's going to happen to our local music market?
Sony has long term plans to sign regional artists, and distribute their music around the world, but do to the economic climate they'll have to hold off on the new venture!
