So there's a rumor going around Cairo town that a new Egyptian business man, who's work was previously in England, is coming to Cairo for big business...and his first order of business is a new radio station.
Seeing as how Nile FM is slowly turning towards the "7aba 3arabi" that they play at night, it seems that they have a new plan in mind. Insiders in Nile FM have told us that they are slowly sensitizing people to like the arabic music as they hope to bring it in as a normal thing...and that's where this new businessman comes in...
WAVE FM is planning on being Cairo's newest radio station, which will play one English song and one Arabic song, back 2 back. We don't know how successful this will be as it might be a buzzkill for most English listeners, but apparently, this is what the majority of listeners want...maybe not us, though.
Here's the confusing part of this rumor...our same insiders from Nile FM have told us that Sawiris, Adeeb and many other media gurus in Egypt have been trying for years to get a radio license and have failed...so our question is:
How connected is this new hot-shot to get a station so easily?
