Has anyone heard of Jihan El Midany?! Well, if you haven't, you will and should know her name. She will be representing Egypt at the Youth Olympics in 4 different sports!
The 18 year old Egyptian will be the first Egyptian woman to be a flag bearer for our country at an Olympic event, and what's more? She will be competing in swimming, shooting, fencing, and running! If she wins a medal in any of these 4, she will be the first Egyptian women to do so as well!
This is awesome and very impressive news, we wish her the best of luck!

We asked Cairo this week where they will be spending their Ramadan...and the results are in!
57.6% said they would be spending it in Cairo
A surprising 5.1% said they'd be spending it in Sahel
Another 5.1% said they'd hang out in Sokhna
22% said they would be spending it abroad
and finally, 10.2% said they would be heading to sahel on the weekends.
We're surprised - we definitely thought more of you would spend it in Sahel! And to those abroad, good luck with the long hours.
Wherever you are, we hope you all have a wonderful Ramadan!

As we're sure many of you have seen this ad (above), we have just received news on one of Coke's new "happiness" locations, and a bunch of Cairo's who's who gentlemen were actually involved in it.
We hear that Mojo Lounge was one of the latest places to partake in Coke's new campaign, and while lounging about there some of Cairo's who's who won PS3's, Plasma's and more all while being filmed!
We can't wait till they release that ad, we're sure it'll be interesting.

With the unlimited amount of TV shows that go on in Ramadan, it becomes very hard to differentiate them from one another and actually pick out which one's are worth your time.
Well we came across one show called "Zay el 3asal" roughly translated into (Like honey) in reference to when someone is sweet/funny.
Moving on from our irrelevant rant on the title, the show airs on El Qahera wel Nas (Tarek Nours Cairo Centric Channel), the show basically interviews pedestrians about random illogical situations which need fixing and in return the responses are hilarious.
Egyptians just love bullshitting on whatever topic they are given and as a viewer it truly is enlightening to see how people think and how ridiculous some of the answers are...
We definitely recommend you guys check this one out!

We have to say we've seen a majority of ads this Ramadan and all have been quite impressive...but there is one that we can't figure out for the life of us why it was made, and who was the "creative mind" behind it.
The new Mobinil campaign is one big disaster, although we get the point behind it and all, it could have been implemented in a much more creative manner.
Well at least all you Mobinil people out there know they can speak during Ramadan for nothing! Oh hurray....

We're totally feeling this new artist Darelle London, her new song "Selfish" we believe is one everyone can relate to, especially the generation of spoilt brats we all have turned out to be!
Check it out!

A AMR DIAB PHONE?
Yeah...apparently, Nokia, the Egyptian Telecommunication Company, and Raya recently announced that they will be releasing a Nokia phone by the name of - you ready for it? - Amr Diab.
This will officially be the first time that a cell phone is named after a celebrity, and will feature ring tones of his songs as well as wallpaper/screen savers of him.
Apparently though, and thank God for this, The Egyptian Writers and Composers Union annouced that Nokia hasn't recieved the authorization or permission to release the "Amr Diab" phone, protecting the rights of the composers and writers of his songs. If the issue is not resolved between the two, it will resort to legal action.
We won't lie, we pray to God this won't get resolved and the phone isn't released because we can just picture el shabab el cool walking around with the Amr Diab phones, and honestly ya man, the thought of it really makes us nauseated. fashkh.
DON'T DO IT.

Get this Cairo, Palm Hills has signed with the Dubai-based luxury company, Jumeirah Group to manage their 250-room 5 star Jumeirah Gamsha Bay Red Sea resort.
This is the first agreement that Jumeirah has signed in Egypt...and hopefully not the last!
The Palm Hills Palm Gamsha development will be composed of over 20 man-made islands in the shape of a seahorse...such a Dubai thing to do!
Only makes sense to get Jumeirah to manage it!
