First a shit list, now this? 

Enigma recently released their "Fashion Police" segment, which features photos of well and ill-dressed Cairenes. Now we're all for featuring fashion and keeping up with Cairo's trends, but this takes on a new level. The segment features people's faces, asking if the person's outfit is a disaster or making fun of how much concealer they're wearing! (We admit the concealer was horrible but still). 

Don't get us wrong, not all of it is negative.  They compliment...their friends. The photos feature Enigma's relatives, former employees, and close friends with captions complimenting their elegance and fashion sense. Which to be fair, some look great and some really don't. Featuring people's faces and making fun (subtly or blatantly) is not only unprofessional, but just plain mean. Reminds us of Cairo Chic, but in a bad way!

Even American magazines blur people's faces in segments such as "hot or not". Is this what what Egyptian journalism has come to?

Come on guys, we thought you were better than that. 

Some would call this the last sahel weekend! But S&H know for a fact what's in store for you in the next one! 

Either way what hectic weekend this was, so let us break it down for you: 

Thursday:

Electrum's Decadence Party: They call them the soul shakers, they were spposed to come once before, but due to that pesky little volcano, looks like the Electrum boys were able to reschedule. 

Either way, many of you danced teh night away, unaware of the huge cat fight that took place in the lades bathroom...Tsk Tsk girls - not very class of you, now is it?

Sky Bar - Most of you opted to heading out there on a Thursday night, regardless of the ridiculous minimum charge they applied this weekend (500 LE) and the repetititve music. Either way, looks like sky bar is a winner. 

Friday:

Oriental Coast Launch - Friday during the day was the launch of Marsa Allam's future Cafe Del Mar spot....all this took place on the beach in Diplo, the wide line up of DJs and the musicians had everyone who were kicking back on the beach totally relaxed. 

Tamarai - one of Cairo's young up and coming DJs made a stop at Tamarai on Friday, spinning the tunes you guys love!

It looked like a lot of people opted to stay home though, as we know the God awful Amr Diab concert was taking place, which makes any movement on the North Coast near to impossible. 

Saturday: 

Sky Bar - Everyone knows this is the place to be on a Saturday night, although it is still unbearably crowded, the weekend crowd is nearly gone...

But in true Egyptian spirit, two of Cairo's known trouble makers were caught in a fight! Although the fight managed to make its way outside, it did cause some destruction! 

So apparently...the UAE is banning BBM? What?! 

According to recent news, starting October 1st, 2010, the UAE will suspend certain Blackberry services (BBM, Email, and Web browsing services) - wait a second, that's not certain, that's pretty much the whole purpose of a Blackberry! They said they'll suspend it until "an acceptable solution can be developed and applied" - a solution to what?! 

Apparently, the UAE feel that Blackberry services are a "threat to national security". 

This is ridiculous. The UAE is supposed to be a hub for Middle East business, growth, and development and yet one of the number one tools used by businessmen will now be banned? How do you think this will affect business? and what about iPhones? are those okay?!

Sorry to all of you in the UAE that's berries will soon be useless, we think it sucks too...on the bright side, iPhone now has whatsapp, an application that lets you bbm Blackberry users.
