Pass Me A Cig....Or Not!

July 8, 2010

Wow, first the Alex ban and now this...Egypt's really taking this whole anti-smoking campaign seriously!

The price of cigarettes has just drastically increased in hopes that the high prices of the product will turn people off from buying and hopefully eventually curb the habit. Apparently cigarettes aren't the only thing experiencing price increases...shisha too!! (we have noticed that it's becoming more and more expensive!). The taxes raise the prices by as much as 40% (for cigs), for shisha its double the price it used to be.

Major props for the encouragement! We hope that this actually has an effect on our society...we all know that we don't take smoking lightly. But these are definitely great stepping stones to a healthier Egypt!

Do you think it'll work?

Girl What Are You Doing

July 8, 2010

We've all had a friend or two...or ten, like this: the one that changes around guys/girls.

You guys know what we're talking about. You hang out with a friend and they're awesome but the second you're around the opposite sex they start acting obnoxious/arrogant/[place negative adjective here]. And you find yourself looking at them like...."what are you doing?"

Our question is, do you say something!?

The way we see it, we love the person as a friend because they're fun the way they are but the act they put on for the opposite sex is just annoying so shouldn't we say something?

Like, "hey buddy, acting like a douche won't get you the girl faster" or "Sweety, stop acting like you're stupid when you're actually really smart!"

We just hate watching our guy friends act super arrogant and girlfriends act more say3een than they are just to get attention.

You've all had those types of friends, what do you do? Do you say something or roll your eyes in annoyance and move on? Or if you're the type who does it (do they even realize it?) then why do you do it?!

We get our laughs but as friends...it's gotta stop!

The Finale

July 8, 2010

Now that Paul the Octopus has proven his psychic powers, and the World Cup is drawing to a sad ending (what are we supposed to do with the rest of our summer?)

Ms. Shakira has revealed her closing ceremony outfit, designed by a Mr. Roberto Cavalli...we're pretty sure you guys have heard of him!

The above outfit is what she will be wearing while she sings her world cup song Waka Waka, and we're pretty sure they were going for the

Africano vybe, but it kind of looks like some poor peacock got mugged and is running around naked somewhere!
